Statistical Insurance Bulletin 2014

The Statistical Insurance Bulletin is an annual publication that enlivens dense data with a unique thematic narrative and accompanying visual material. The 2014 edition was designed around the concept of a "positive protest"—a visual and textual rebellion against pessimism that utilizes the medium of street art to celebrate progress, optimism, and a step toward a better future.

The visual concept draws inspiration from the aesthetics of street graffiti, posters, and bold statements sprayed onto raw urban walls. However, instead of carrying anger or aggression, these elements convey strictly positive messages, proverbs, and uplifting thoughts. The textured, often cold urban backgrounds are broken up and softened by integrated scenes of nature and warm, candid photographs of people. These visual openings act as windows into a world of positive desires and shared goals, entirely free of negativity or harshness. The result is a compelling contrast between the raw structure of the street and the soft, forward-looking energy of human life.
