Holobionic art is the art of “abstract naturalism”. The information conveyed comes or is inspired directly from nature. In nature we see certain shapes, patterns and forces throughout different scales from cosmic to subatomic. Fractal forms in nature are the language of the infinite in the finite.
Branching and other fractal principles always based on repetition result in complex forms and in these cases surface to volume ratio always becomes very big. Nature in biological forms always displays the economic arrangement of living matter, where the goal is always to squeeze the most information in a smallest possible volume/body/organ. This is done by branching or folding. It is these and other principles that are used to create Holobionic art. These are the principles that Holobionic art highlights and potrays. That is why it is in essence naturalistic although abstracted and reduced to 2dimensions and 2 colours or states.
Just as sacred geometry discloses harmonic geometric templates behind the forms of the universe so does the holobionic art disclose some of the generative principles that govern the formation of (living) matter. Holobionic art is not geometric but completely organic and fluid. More like the appearence of natural objects and beings in real life.
New views in physics hold that the nature of reality is fractal and our Universe is a sort of a hologram.
Every shape (each HoloBion) in the picture is in a way a model for all other shapes. Holobionic art portrays holofractographic nature of reality as described by Unified physics of David Bohm, Ervin Laszlo, Nassim Haramein, … and many other thinkers that propose theories which see the Universe as completely connected: entangled!
Nature always comes near to capturing infinity in the finite.
Axiomatic method
All shapes and beings in the artworks are created in the same articulate way/method in black and white with “right and left curve” without any sharp edges or straight lines. Similiar as all images on screen are constructed of pixels all BW photos printed on paper emerge from the pattern of smaller or bigger dots creating illusion of an object.
I am using the axiomatic method: using a small set of rules in order to create an infinite array of complex results. Just like 25 letters of alphabet create a language, and seven notes create music.
The result is emphasized similarity between seemingly unrelated things such as an leaf or an river system.
HOLO
stands for holism, for the whole. It comes from the Greek word ὅλος holos, meaning "all, whole, entire". Holism is the idea that natural systems (physical, biological, chemical, social, economic, mental, linguistic, etc.) and their properties should be viewed as wholes, not as collections of parts. This often includes the view that systems function as wholes and that their functioning cannot be fully understood solely in terms of their component parts.
Holobionic art gives attention to details, to parts, to individual beings (bions) but simultaneously always conways the unification principle by the “Force” or “Being” shown as white space. The white (negative space) is just as important, the shapes are emerging from the white space. White creates them. “White” is the generative, shapegiving force.
So all bions (dark shapes) are shaped by, connected by the great omnipresent “light” Bion (or Being).
We can call it in native american terminology the Great spirit, the agency that pervades all things and therefore knows all things. In terms of Unified physics we call the white form the vacuum, which as we know now is not empty at all it is full of energy, actualy more suitable term for it is plenum.
The space between material objects connects all objects. Nothing material exists outside space. Space itself is a primal generative force from which everything comes into being. The white in my pictures is therefore an Aether if we use the term from the 19th and early 20th century.
By contemplating the white part of the composition you are experiencing the wholeness and connectedness of the Univese. For more complete experience of my pictures text will be used
The holomovement is a key concept in David Bohm's interpretation of quantum mechanics and for his overall worldview. It brings together the holistic principle of "undivided wholeness" with the idea that everything is in a state of process or becoming (or what he calls the "universal flux"). For Bohm, wholeness is not a static oneness, but a dynamic wholeness-in-motion in which everything moves together in an interconnected process. The concept is presented most fully in Wholeness and the Implicate Order, published in 1980. As can be seen all the Holobionic habitats (groups of individual shapes) are among other things always a visualization of holomovement.
BI
is a number prefix denoting two, binary systems are ones composed from two parts. Binary code is the digital representation of text and data using 1 and 0. HoloBIonic art is a visual representation of binary, dual nature of our reality. The original form and concept that all the bions grow out of is the yinyang symbol.
Formally all the bions are derived from the yinyang symbol. Apart of numerous other information that is displayed in the yinyang symbol it also represents the “original divison” that took place when Oness became Many, starting by becoming Duality which was the birth of the object and the background.
When oness divides for the first time duality comes to existance. And from the first pair of opposite forces everything else sprawns. Oness is oness, unbroken and complete. With the first divide you get duality and then trinity and the multiplicity. From duality onwards nothing really changes. Changes are only quantitative.
BIONIC
Bionics (also known as bionical creativity engineering) is the application of biological methods and systems found in nature to the study and design of engineering systems and modern technology.
My art is bionic because it portrays natural formative principles mentioned above.
BIO
Bio stands for Bios, life itself. And so all the shapes in the artworks even if completely abstract actualy look like being sort of alive. They look like living entities which is in line with the notion that Universe is inherently a Living Organism.
