Designing the visual identity for Klasična Beletrina, a prestigious book series by Beletrina Publishing House, presented a unique design challenge: how to breathe a contemporary graphic language into timeless masterpieces of world and Slovenian literature. The first phase of the collection comprises 25 foundational book titles published over a five-year period. The primary objective of the design concept was to create a recognizable, striking, and attractive visual identity that connects vastly different literary eras and authors into a cohesive collector's edition that inspires and enhances any bookshelf.

The visual expression of the entire series is based on monochromatic vector illustrations with a touch of surrealism. Through clean lines and metaphorical motifs, each cover interprets the core of the specific literary work without falling into overly literal illustration of the content. The typographical layout features the series logo, which is composed of typefaces from various historical eras—spanning from the Middle Ages to the modern age. The author's name is always set in the Bookman Old Style font, while the typography of the book title dynamically adapts, drawing direct inspiration from the content and the historical period of the book.

By using high-quality textile canvas and a carefully selected color palette for each individual book, the collection offers readers more than just a premium reading experience; it functions as an aesthetic, tactile object that celebrates the heritage of classical literature.
