Design of a large series of gift items and merchandise for the Sečovlje Salina Nature Park (KPSS), including gift bags, badges, mugs, notebooks, magnets, and other promotional items. Created in collaboration with co-author Katarina Mrvar, the series connects the natural and cultural heritage of the park with a modern, clean design style.
The style of the illustrations comes directly from the existing KPSS logo. It uses colorful, delicate silhouette illustrations on a clean white background. White is not just an empty space here; it is the main color of the identity of the park and the Piran Salt pans brand. The illustrations are divided into two main themes based on the two parts of the salt pans:
The wild part (Fontanigge): In this area, where salt is no longer produced and nature is untouched, the illustrations show the most iconic local animals and plants. These include silhouettes of the little egret, the black-winged stilt, the kentish plover, and typical salt-loving plants like samphire and sea lavender.
The salt-making part (Lera): This part covers the living cultural heritage and traditional salt production. The illustrations show the geometric lines of the salt fields, silhouettes of traditional salt pans houses, and salt pan workers harvesting salt by hand with traditional wooden tools.
By combining nature-inspired illustration with a minimalist graphic layout, we created a consistent series of products. It offers park visitors a beautiful and authentic souvenir that celebrates the bond between nature and human work in the Sečovlje salt pans.
