Design of a bilingual overview monograph Slike / Paintings 2001–08 for Mitja Ficko, one of the most prominent and successful contemporary Slovenian painters. Through its two-part structure, the book acts not only as a record of the artist's work but also as a standalone design object that reflects the nature of the paintings.
The main concept of the book layout is based on a strong contrast between the visual and text sections. All professional texts, essays, reviews, image indexes, and technical data are placed in a special insert right in the middle of the monograph. This central section is printed in strict black-and-white on a different type of uncoated paper, clearly separating the information from the artwork. This creates a clear visual and tactile transition.
