The "Dan 202" project is a flagship annual music event organized by the national radio station Val 202. In 2014, the event celebrated the 15th anniversary of the popular Slovenian rock band Tabu, bringing them together with the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra and special guests for a legendary, sold-out concert at Ljubljana's Križanke outdoor theatre. I was commissioned to design the complete visual identity for the promotional campaign as well as the packaging for the live double CD & DVD release.
Having previously designed the visual identity and logo for Val 202—which centers around the iconic play button symbol integrated with a signature radio-wave stripe pattern—my goal was to reference this established branding but push it in a completely fresh, bold direction. Instead of going with an obvious zebra pattern, we drew inspiration from the band’s hit song “Hvala za ribe” (Thanks for the Fish), transforming the stripe pattern into an organic texture of fish scales and patterns.
The combination of striking colors, organic fish motifs, and strong, trashy typography derived directly from Tabu's band logo resulted in a highly dynamic, wild, and instantly recognizable identity.
