Art of Future – Identity

12 months, 12 authors, 12 books, 12 futures
Visual identity, logo, and secondary graphic elements for the multidisciplinary project Art of Future (Umetnost prihodnosti), staged as part of Maribor 2012 – European Capital of Culture. Initiated by the Beletrina publishing house, the project's core concept revolved around publishing 12 books by twelve authors over 12 months. The design challenge was to construct a clean, abstract, yet systematic visual language capable of conveying this forward-looking vision through the lens of the program's defining anchor: the number 12.

The conceptual solution relies entirely on the geometric exploration of the number 12, developed using the foundational shape of the circle. The design process involved a systematic deconstruction of circular geometry—either by dividing a single circle into twelve precise segments or by radiating twelve concentric rings from a central core. These structured iterations generated dynamic secondary visual elements. This modular graphic system formed the core identity of the project, providing a cohesive layout for primary stationery while laying a solid foundation for the subsequent series of book covers and promotional posters.
