Proceedings of Student Community 1968-1974

The collection on the Student Community 1968–1974 documents a period of intense student organizing and social engagement that strongly marked the Slovenian cultural and political space. Between 1968 and 1974, the Student Community operated as a self-organized platform of student autonomy, activism, and a collective vision of a more open society.

In designing the collection, I approached the extensive historical archival material with care and precision. The visual concept reinterprets the aesthetics of the late 1960s and early 1970s, translated into a contemporary design language. A distinctive character is created through the treatment of photographic and typographic material. In the photographs, color is used to emphasize messages on banners, slogans, and other key elements of protest culture, strengthening their visual and communicative impact. In the typographic compositions, I aimed to capture the energy of student youth, spontaneity, and lightness characteristic of the period.

The publication is designed in two-color printing; archival materials and photographs are reduced to a limited palette, creating a unified visual atmosphere and reinforcing the documentary nature of the book. Typography plays an important role in the identity of the collection – I chose fresh, expressive, and slightly “funky” solutions that still preserve a subtle retro character of the era.
