The Yin Yang font is an experimental typographic project created in 2004 during the TipoBrda international workshop. The typeface is based on a deep visual and conceptual exploration of the Taijitu (yin and yang) symbol. Ancient Taoist masters claimed that meditating on this symbol could reveal all the secrets and laws of the universe. Taking this philosophy seriously, I later expanded this research into "holobionic" art (showcases on a separate page), with the Yin Yang font serving as a foundational piece of this lifelong journey.
From a technical standpoint, each letter is intricately and systematically constructed from multiple smaller yin and yang symbols. Placed upon a strict typographic grid, they maintain a disciplined structure that ensures legibility especially at smaller display sizes.
